Tailor-Made Cappadocia Tour

Some people come for the Byzantine frescoes. Some come for the geology. Some come because their daughter wants to ride a horse through Love Valley at sunset. All of those are a good brief.

Tour overview

How a tailor-made day comes together

This is the option for the trips that do not fit a colour. A honeymoon that needs one perfect evening rather than eight stops. A photographer who wants to be at Love Valley before the sun and nowhere near a museum. A group of friends who want to hike between villages and stop for tea, and would rather skip anything with a ticket booth.

The process is simple and it is all email. You tell us who is coming, when, and roughly what you love. We come back with a proposed shape for the day and an honest note about what is realistic — including the things we think you should drop. Then we adjust until it is right.

We will also tell you when the standard Red Tour is genuinely the best answer. Quite often it is, and pretending otherwise would waste your money.

Highlights

  • Half-day, full-day or multi-day — including combinations with Ephesus and Istanbul
  • Hiking routes between the valleys, away from every car park
  • Photography timings built around sunrise and golden hour
  • Slower, seated itineraries for guests with limited mobility
  • Family days paced around actual children rather than theoretical ones
  • Food-led days: village kitchens, local wine, the Avanos river villages
Step by step

Four briefs we get often

  1. "We want to walk, not stand in car parks"

Rose Valley into Red Valley on foot, the Çavuşin cliff church, tea at a valley kiosk, then the vehicle meets you at the far end. Around 6 km, no coaches at any point.

  2. "We are here for the photographs"

Balloons from a hill at dawn, breakfast, a rest, then Love Valley and the Ortahisar ridge for the evening. The middle of the day is deliberately empty because the light is useless.

  3. "My mother cannot manage steps"

Viewpoint-led routing — Uçhisar, Göreme panorama, Ortahisar, Avanos riverside — with the vehicle always within fifty metres, and Kaymaklı instead of Derinkuyu if an underground city is wanted at all.

  4. "We have one day and want everything"

An honest conversation. You cannot have everything in a day, but you can have Göreme, Uçhisar, Paşabağ, Devrent, Avanos and a sunset — and we will tell you which one to cut when the day runs long.

Included with every tour

Skip the line — priority entrance at every ticketed site

Queueing is the single biggest waste of a day in Cappadocia. As a TÜRSAB-registered agency, Gezginol holds a priority pass and buys your site tickets in advance — so you walk in past the queue while the coach parties are still shuffling towards the booth.

Skip-the-line entry

Your guide holds your tickets before you arrive. At the Göreme Open Air Museum, the Dark Church and the underground cities you go straight to the turnstile — no ticket queue, no fumbling for cash.

Fast-pass timing

Priority access is only half of it. Your guide also times each stop against the coach waves, so you are inside the painted chapels in the quiet window rather than the crush between 10am and 2pm.

We handle every ticket

Museum passes, church surcharges, underground city entries — all obtained for you on every tour we run, in every region we operate. You never queue at a booth, and you never pay more than the official state price.

Entrance fees themselves are quoted separately and at cost, because the Ministry of Culture and Tourism resets them each year — see our entrance fees page. What your tour includes is the priority access and the queueing done on your behalf.

No surprises

If your plans change

Cancellation, in plain words

More than 48 hours before

No charge at all, and a full refund of anything already paid.

Within 48 hours

We try to rebook you first. Where real costs have been committed — a reserved vehicle, a guide who turned other work down — a fair share may be retained, and we tell you the figure openly.

Moving the date instead

Free, and there is no limit on how many times. If your plans move rather than collapse, just say so.

If the balloons are grounded

When civil aviation grounds a flight, the balloon company refunds or rebooks in full — your choice — and we handle the paperwork.

There is no deposit to hold a date, so cancelling costs you nothing but a message. The full terms are on our cancellation policy page.

Good to know

Tailor-Made Cappadocia Tour — your questions answered

How far in advance should I ask?

Two to three weeks is comfortable. In April, May, September and October — the busy months — a month is better, mainly because the good guides get booked. We have arranged days at 24 hours’ notice, but you get less choice.

Can you book our balloon flight and hotel too?

We can arrange balloon flights with licensed operators. We do not sell hotels, but we will happily tell you which village suits your plans — the answer is usually Göreme for a first visit, Uçhisar or Ortahisar for a quieter one.

Is a tailor-made tour more expensive?

Not inherently. It costs what the day costs — the vehicle, the guide, the hours. A simple custom day is priced like a standard private day; a long one with a lot of driving costs more. You will see the figure before you commit to anything.

What if the weather ruins the plan?

We rebuild it that morning. Cappadocia in the rain is actually rather good — the underground cities do not care, and the tuff turns a deep ochre. Balloon flights are the one thing nobody can rescue; if yours is cancelled for wind, the operator refunds it and we reshuffle the day.

Do you offer skip-the-line or priority entrance tickets?

Yes — on every tour we run. As a TÜRSAB-registered agency we hold a priority pass and buy your site tickets in advance, so at every ticketed stop you go straight in rather than queueing at the booth. It applies to all our tours in every region we operate, not just Cappadocia.

Does skip-the-line mean the entrance fees are included in the price?

No, and we would rather be straight about it. The priority access and the ticket-buying are included; the ticket cost itself is quoted separately and charged at the official state price, because the Ministry resets those prices every year. You never pay us a markup on an entrance fee.

How much time does skip-the-line actually save?

On a quiet morning, minutes. In the July–September peak, or at the Göreme Open Air Museum between 10am and 2pm, it can be the better part of an hour at a single site — which is why we combine the priority entrance with timing that avoids the coach waves in the first place.
