Cancellation Policy

Travel plans wobble — flights move, ships reroute, children get chickenpox. Our policy is built on that reality.

Day tours

  • Cancel more than 48 hours before your tour: no charge, full refund of anything paid.
  • Cancel within 48 hours: we will always try to rebook you first; where costs have genuinely been incurred (reserved vehicles, committed guides) a fair share may be retained, stated openly.
  • No-shows without any word: charged, because the guide and driver stood at your hotel at dawn. Write to us even at midnight — a message beats a no-show every time.

Multi-day packages

Package confirmations state their own cancellation ladder (typically free until 7 days out, then scaled), because they involve committed third-party services. The ladder appears in your written confirmation before you pay anything — no surprises retroactively.

Balloon flights and weather

If the civil aviation authority grounds your flight, the operating balloon company refunds or rebooks in full — your choice — and we handle the paperwork. This is the one cancellation nobody controls and nobody pays for. If you cancel a confirmed flight yourself, the operator’s own terms apply; we state them in writing when booking.

When we cancel

If we ever have to cancel a service (a vehicle failure, a guide’s emergency, a road closure), you choose between a full refund and the best alternative we can build — and we mean best: our record in such cases is a matter of some professional pride.

Why our terms are this relaxed

Most Cappadocia tours are booked weeks or months ahead by people whose plans are genuinely uncertain — a cruise itinerary changes, a connecting flight moves, a child gets ill. We take no deposit to hold a date precisely because a booking should not become a trap. The cost of the occasional late cancellation is, in our experience, far lower than the cost of being the kind of company people are afraid to book with.

The one thing we ask in return is a message. A cancelled tour costs us a guide and a vehicle we could have offered someone else; a silent cancellation costs us those and a driver standing in a hotel lobby at dawn. Even a one-line message at midnight is enough.

Rebooking instead of cancelling

If your plans move rather than collapse, say so and we will simply move the booking — there is no fee for changing a date, and no limit on how many times you may. Guests whose balloon flight is grounded by weather are rebooked automatically onto the next available dawn, and if you leave the region before it flies, the operator refunds in full.
